Simulation and Collision Detection for Manufacturing processes:

During the design of very large stamping tools, a check for machinability is essential. This add-on application allows a designer, without detailed NC knowledge, to identify manufacturing processes on the tool assembly. When done, a tool path is automatically calculated, simulated and an interference check for the tool is performed.

Exclusion Area Calculation for ECAD systems:

MCAD-ECAD interfaces usually determine exclusion areas for placement of electronic components on printed circuit boards, only on PCB level. During the design of PCBs for instrument panels, the exclusion areas must be analyzed based on the different height levels, to maximize the usage of the tight space. This add-on software calculates exclusion areas for different height levels in an instrument panel assembly and outputs the information in a format which can be imported in an ECAD system.

Integration of a Chain Drive Calculation Software:

This custom application integrates a chain drive calculation software inside Pro/ENGINEER. It allows designers to layout a chain drive with predefined elements like gears, tensioners, guiding rails, etc. while inside Pro/ENGINEER. The information about the chain drive layout is then transferred to the calculation software which calculates chain length, number of links, temperature dependent positions, and other design criteria. The results are automatically displayed in Pro/ENGINEER.
